Her performance that season earned her the region's outstanding offensive player award. She rejoined the Broncos women's soccer squad as an assistant coach in 2012, followed by serving as a volunteer assistant for the women's basketball team in 2012-13.

Hoyt earned her Associate's from Delhi in General Studies in 2007, finishing her degree in three semesters. She attended Downsville Central School, where she was a four-sport state contender in soccer, basketball, cross country and track and field. On the hardwood, Hoyt helped the Eagles to the state finals her junior year and was recognized to the Class D All-Tournament Team. Their postseason run still stands as the furthest in DCS basketball history on both the boys' and girls' side. As a senior, Hoyt led the soccer team to an undefeated season, culminating in a 2005 Class D state championship, where she was named Tournament MVP.

Upon graduation from SUNY Oneonta, Hoyt returned to Downsville to coach the high school girls' basketball team, where she went from assistant junior varsity/varsity coach, head junior varsity coach, then head varsity coach in three years. In 2013-14, she was the head girls' basketball coach at Andes Central School before becoming the head modified basketball coach from 2015 to 2017 and head tennis coach in 2017. In between, she was the assistant girls' soccer coach at Otter Valley High School in 2015. A substitute teacher at Andes since 2016, Hoyt was elevated to Athletic Director in 2017.

Outside of athletics, Hoyt worked as a farm hand at her family’s Baldauf Farm from 2004 to 2016. She volunteered as the Head of Education at Mission: Wolf Sanctuary in Westcliffe, Colo. from 2014-15, educating visitors about wolf awareness issues and leading tours around the sanctuary.
