BETHLEHEM, Pa. (September 29, 2017) – The SUNY Delhi men's cross country team traveled out to what was perhaps their most arduous race so far this season on Friday, taking on the 8K challenge at Lehigh University's Paul Short Run. Running in the Brown Race, the Broncos finished 14th in a field of 24 non-NCAA Division I teams with 371 points, averaging a 26:10.47, a new school record for the fastest five-man average over an 8K course. Kobie Lane's team-leading mark of 25:20 not only placed him 32nd in the event, but put him third-fastest in school history in an 8K race.

In a field of 214 runners, Nicholas Arnecke also earned a new career high, placing 40th at 25:32, which puts him at fourth all-time in the Delhi record books. Jon Messler finished 55th at a pace of 25:49, placing him seventh on the all-time list, while Lucas Reilly's 86th-place finish at 26:11 is ninth-fastest all-time. Jack Hopkins broke a career high Friday at 27:55, good for 158th place. Kevin Malen (161st, 28:05) and Ted Oster (165th, 28:16) wrapped up the Broncos' day.
