Men's Results / Women's Results

The SUNY Delhi men and women traveled to Geneseo to run in the innaugural Mike Woods Invitational.  The field sizes were massive with 453 entries in the women's race and 534 in the men's race.

The men's team was an impressive 14th place out of 38 teams, placing ahead of many established 4-year programs including Ithaca, RIT, Rochester, Plattsburgh, Union, Brockport, Mansfield and Buffalo State.  For the third time this season the men were led by Jack Hillenbrand (23rd), Kobie Lane (36th) and Scott Downing (87th).  Hillenbrand and Lane both ran under the 26 minute barrier for the first time at the eight kilometer distance with times of 25:33.2 and 25:43.3 respectively.  Downing also ran his best eight-kilometer time with a performance of 26:22.3.  The Broncos scoring was rounded out by Andrew Davis (192nd, 27:16.5), Mathew Robinson (214th, 27:24.7), Cameron Grant-Hill (300th, 28:04.5) and Christopher Campbell (434th, 29:44.4), all of which were huge personal bests for the 8k distance.

The women did not run their full team this week, but had solid performances nonetheless.  Freshman Khiere Ashley led the way again with a terrific time of 23:23.7 for her first ever six-kilometer race. Deirdre Nolis and Rainey Cerqua had fantastic races in which they carried their best five kilometer pace through another 1,000 meters in their first 6k distance as well with times of 24:46.1 and 27:11.4 respectively.

The teams are slated to race again on Wednesday in the Bronco Weekday Classic at the College Golf Course at Delhi.
