Bronco Cross Country Teams Both Take Second At Bard

Both the men and women had very strong performances at the Bard Cross Country Invitational, each earning runner-up finishes as a team.  

The women were led by freshman Khiere Ashley and sophomore Deirdre Nolis.  Ashely blazed the five kilometer course with a time of 18:55 to take second place overall.  Nolis steadily moved up through the pack throughout the race to take home a ninth place individual finish with a time of 20:41. Filling in the scoring for the Broncos were senior Jesse Jacob, sophomore Jaliza Tull and freshman Rainey Cerqua with 23rd, 24th and 39th place finishes respectively in the field of 120 runners.  The team scored a total 72 points, only six points behind team winner Union College.  

For the men, the trio of junior Jack Hillenbrand, freshman Kobie Lane, and sophomore Scott Downing led the way with their 2-3-6 finish respectively.  Hillenbrand ran a time of 26:08 for the eight kilometer course marking a huge personal best for him at that distance.  Rounding out the scoring five for the men were Andrew Davis and Mat Robinson who placed 17th and 18th overall in the 136 runner field.  SUNY Delhi's 46 points was good for second place in the 15 team invitational.

The teams will now take a weekend off before racing at Geneseo on October 3rd.
