LYNDONVILLE, Vt. (October 31, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi women's cross country team enters their first North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championships ranked first in the conference's Pre-Championship Coaches Poll. The Broncos received five first-place votes and 75 points, taking the top ranking by just one vote. The 5K conference championships take place this Saturday at 12:00 p.m., hosted by Northern Vermont Lyndon.

Head Coach Robb Munro and the Broncos prepare for their first NAC Championship after winning the ACAA Conference Championship and placing third at the USCAA National Championships in 2018. Four-time NAC Rookie of the Week and USCAA Runner of the Week Sophie Stewart (Newark Valley, NY / Newark Valley) and junior Arielle Moheimani (Homer, NY / Homer) lead a group that won two events this fall and set a season-best five-woman 5K average of 20:55 at the Oneonta Airfield Invite. Delhi's 2019 highlights also included defeating Hartwick in a 4K dual meet to start the season on Aug. 30 and winning the 5K Bronco Classic on Oct. 8.

Husson University collected three first-place votes and 74 points for a very close second-place prediction. The 2018 Champions of Maine Farmington picked up the remaining first-place vote and 65 points for third place in the poll. Maine Presque Isle received 48 points for fourth place, while SUNY Canton and Maine Maritime tied for fifth with 41 points each. Host Northern Vermont Lyndon amassed 25 points, and Northern Vermont Johnson picked up 19 points, for seventh and eight place, respectively. Thomas completes the poll with 15 points for ninth place.

The NAC Women's Cross Country Championship race will be held this Saturday, November 2, 2019 on Northern Vermont Lyndon's campus in Lyndonville, Vermont.
