WATERVILLE, Me. (October 25, 2019) – Freshman Sophie Stewart (Newark Valley, NY / Newark Valley) has been awarded the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week Award for the fourth time this season. Stewart earned praise for being the Broncos' second finisher at both Delhi's very own Bronco Classic on Oct. 3 and the UAlbany Invitational on Oct. 18.

The Newark Valley, NY native took second overall at the 5K Bronco Classic with a time of 21:17.51 as the Broncos won the team event with 26 points. She then posted a 48th-place finish at the 5K NCAA Division I UAlbany Invitational with a time of 20:29.6. The Broncos placed eighth to finish as the top NCAA Division III team in a race that featured competitors across all three divisions.

Stewart and the Broncos are now in postseason mode, prepping for the NAC Championships Saturday, Nov. 2, hosted by Northern Vermont Lyndon. They then will race at the USCAA National Championships on Friday, Nov. 8.
