Women Perform Strong in Regular-Season Finale at UAlbany

ALBANY, N.Y. (October 18, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi women's cross country team ran their sixth and final regular-season meet of 2019 Friday at UAlbany's 5K R.K. Munsey Invitational. Junior Arielle Moheimani was the Broncos' top finisher in 40th place with a season-best time of 20:20.8 as the women placed eighth with 220 points. The event featured ten teams and 86 runners across all three NCAA divisions.

Freshman Sophie Stewart was the second finisher for the Broncos with a time of 20:29.6, finishing in 48th. Fellow freshman Shyanne Lawton finished with a time of 20:56.9 for 57th, coming within four seconds of her PR. Katerina Salcedo closed in on 60th place with a time of 21:14.8. Mersadie Dibbell took 68th at 21:54.7, while Mary Lyons took 69th at 22:06.0. Jillian Hernandez rounded out Delhi's day at 23:15.6 for 76th place.

"Today was a great opportunity for our women to compete on a really big stage" related head coach Robb Munro. "They responded and ran great! Many were close to their career and season bests. As we look forward to the NAC Championships, it was great to see them respond to the level of competition they way they did."

The Delhi women will now make the leap into postseason preparations, where their November consists of their first-ever NAC Championship appearance on Saturday, Nov. 2, followed by the USCAA National Championships on Friday, Nov. 8.
