NORFOLK, Va. (September 18, 2019) – One day after receiving NAC Rookie of the Week honors, women's cross country freshman runner Sophie Stewart (Newark Valley, NY / Newark Valley) was awarded USCAA Runner of the Week for her performance at the 5K SUNY Oneonta Airfield Invitational on Saturday.

The Newark Valley High School graduate placed third in the 48-runner field with a time of 19:50.3, less than one minute off the pace. The native of Newark Valley, NY was the first of five Broncos that took the top 18 as the ladies finished third with 59 points.

Stewart and the Broncos have the next ten days to prep for their next competition at the SUNY Geneseo Mike Woods Invitational on Saturday Sept. 28.
