WATERVILLE, Me. (September 17, 2019) – For the second time in three weeks, Broncos cross country freshman Sophie Stewart (Newark Valley, NY / Newark Valley) has won the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week award. She was honored for her team-leading performance at the 5K SUNY Oneonta Airfield Invitational on Saturday.

Stewart placed third in the 48-runner field with a time of 19:50.3, less than one minute off the pace. The native of Newark Valley, NY was the first of five Broncos that took the top 18 as the ladies finished third with 59 points.

In two weeks, Stewart and the Broncos are back in action at the SUNY Geneseo Mike Woods Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 28.
