ONEONTA, N.Y. (September 14, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi women's cross country team finished third at SUNY Oneonta's 5-kilometer Airfield Invitational Saturday, with freshman Sophie Stewart leading Delhi with a third-place finish in a time of 19:50.3. Five Broncos placed in the top 18 as the team racked up 59 points in a race head coach Robb Munro later said that his team performed "awesome."

Katerina Salcedo was Delhi's next finisher, placing 11th with a time of 20:43.7. Shyanne Lawton took 13th at 20:55.9, while Mary Lyons placed 16th at 21:27.4 and Mersadie Dibbell 18th at 21:38.9. Also running for Delhi included Naomi Mullings (23:51.0), Alexis Stevenson (24:38.9), Jewel Pignetti (24:40.0), and Katelyn Ingraham (26:38.3).

"This was the first time this season that we really tried to race and find out where we are," related Munro. "It was great to see some of the women run lifetime bests for 5K, while many others had very strong performances. The women are working harder than they have in the past and starting to see the results. Now we have to get back to work so we can keep building."

The ladies have two weeks to prepare for their next competition at SUNY Geneseo's Mike Woods Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 28.
