ONEONTA, N.Y. (August 30, 2019) - The SUNY Delhi women opened their cross country season with a dual meet win over Hartwick. The Broncos tallied 22 points to best the Hawks by 12 points, marking the ladies' second victory in as many years over their local rivals.

Leading the way for the Broncos over the 4-kilometer course was freshman Sophie Stewart, who won her first collegiate race with a time of 17:13. Placing third-fourth-fifth in the race respectively were freshman Shyanne Lawton (17:56), Mersadie Dibbell (18:28) and Arielle Moheimani (19:22). Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos was freshman Mary Lyons in ninth place (20:01), while Naomi Mullings (20:13) displaced the fifth runner for Hartwick with a tenth-place finish. "The women ran very well for the first race of the season," said head coach Robb Munro. "They seemed to run within themselves at all times and all finished looking like there is more there, which is what we want in the first meet of the year."

Next up for the women is the Ron Stonitsch Invitational hosted by Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. on Saturday, Sept. 7.
