Bronco Women Win Season Opener at Harwick

ONEONTA, NY (August 31, 2018) - The SUNY Delhi Broncos opened their season traveling to Harwick College for a 4-kilometer race on August 31. The ladies won an exciting race that came down to the tiebreaker after the team scores finished at 28 points a piece. The Broncos won the tiebreaker for having the majority of winning places among the top five finishers for each team.

Early on, Harwick was firmly in the lead, but as the race progressed the women began moving up through the field. Leading the way for women with strong performances in the field of 23 runners, were a trio of freshamn Kali Keyes (2nd, 17:04), Katerina Salcedo (3rd, 17:29), and Mersadie Dibbell (5th, 18:09). Trailing not far behind to round out the scoring were two of the seniors on the team Tristen Bowker (7th, 18:43) and Elise McIntyre (11th, 19:09). 

Also running for the Broncos were Brittany Patterson (12th, 19:23), Alexis Stevenson (13th, 19:35), Delaney Coughlin (14th, 19:44), Brittany Adams (16th, 19:56), Diandra Oliver (17th, 20:08), Jewel Pignetti (19th, 20:30), Susan Hoskins (20th, 21:13), and Madison Ruby (23rd, 24:26).

The Broncos will be in action again Satuday September 8th at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY.
