Delhi Downed in Fifth Set by Cobleskill

COBLESKILL, N.Y. (October 23, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team exchanged a pair of two-point set wins at SUNY Cobleskill Tuesday night, only for the Fighting Tigers to handily win the deciding set by a 15-3 score. The Broncos now stand at 9-10 on the season.

Delhi battled through a tough evening where they finished with a -.010 kill percentage on 43 kills and 45 errors. After capturing the first game, 25-23, the Broncos were at set point in the second set before the Fighting Tigers rallied to win the extended frame, 28-26. Cobleskill carried the momentum to another comeback victory in set three, 25-23, but Delhi countered with the same score in the fourth game to force a fifth set. The decider was all Cobleskill, who jumped out to an 8-1 lead at the switch on its way to the 15-3 victory.

Taylor Tsatsis and Lexi Taylor each finished with a game-best nine kills, as Taylor also garnered a team-high 23 digs. Witchney Clersainville and Haylee Lefebvre both added seven kills, with Clersainville garnering three solo blocks. Erica Prindle finished with 29 assists and three service aces. Marie Julian recorded 21 digs and five kills, while libero Shelby Nolan charted 21 digs, as well. The Broncos posted seven service aces and six blocks, but suffered through 14 service errors and the Fighting Tigers posting eight service aces.

Head coach Beau Bracchy's team returns to NAC competition on Saturday as they travel to SUNY Canton to take on the host Roos and Maine Presque Isle. The Broncos start off against the Owls at 12 noon, then will play Canton at 2:00 p.m.
