DELHI, N.Y. (October 14, 2019) – A late rally in set one and a marathon second set did not fall in the SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team's favor on Monday, which could have otherwise changed the course of an eventual three-set defeat to SUNY Poly. The Broncos moved to 8-7 on the season.

With the guest Wildcats up in set one, 24-20, Delhi challenged with three straight points, only for Poly to win on the next point off a set error. Facing the same deficit in set two, The Broncos knotted things up at 24-24 following four straight points. Both sides exchanged set points a total of six times until the Wildcats finally got two consecutive points to claim a 31-29 win. The Wildcats carried that momentum to a 25-17 win in game three.

Freshman Chloe Elsenbeck led the team with seven kills and a career-high service aces, while totaling 11 digs. Lexi Taylor, Taylor Tsatsis, and Witchney Clersainville each finished with four kills. Clersainville added two total blocks with one solo, while Taylor charted ten digs. Gabriela Kralik had 14 digs, with libero Shelby Nolan digging 11. Erica Prindle tallied a team-best 16 assists, along with eight digs and two kills.

The ladies have one more contest, a road meeting with Elmira on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., before diving into their NAC season this Saturday. The Broncos welcome that day Husson, Maine Maritime, and SUNY Canton to Delhi for a day-long conference quad match. Delhi faces Maine Maritime at 10:00 a.m. and will play the final game versus Husson, slated for 4:00 p.m.
