ALFRED, N.Y. (October 28, 2018) – SUNY Delhi women's volleyball concluded their regular season Sunday splitting a pair of matches at Alfred State. The Broncos opened the day with a three-set defeat to the host Pioneers, but finished strong as several players posted exceptional outings in a four-set victory over Cazenovia.

Head coach Beau Bracchy's team finished the regular season at 13-11, and now set their sights on hosting next weekend's ACAA Tournament. Delhi will face Thomas More in the conference semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 4:00 p.m., with the winner competing in the league championship on Sunday at 12 noon.

ALFRED STATE 3, DELHI 0

Alfred State jumped to take the first three points in game one and never looked back on to a 25-19 victory. The Broncos put up a fight to start the second set, holding on to a pair of one-point leads at 1-0 and 4-3. But tied at 6-6, the Pioneers reeled off nine straight points to carry them to a 25-21 set win. The Broncos led by as much as three points in set three, with the latest being a 12-9 advantage. Alfred State, though, captured eight of the next ten points on their way to a 25-20 win.

Taylor Tsatsis led the team with six kills, and second with six assists. Erica Prindle led with 15 assists, along with 12 digs and two block solos. Libero Shelby Nolan led the match with 19 digs, and topped the Broncos with three service aces. Kristen Maslanka and Witchney Clersainville each tallied five kills, with Maslanka joining in on two block assists.

DELHI 3, CAZENOVIA 1

The Broncos bounced back from a 25-18 defeat in set one to overwhelm the Wildcats in set two by a 25-9 second-set decision. Behind, 13-10, in set three, Delhi jumped in front by taking eight of the next 11 points for an 18-15 lead. The match would find itself tied twice more at 18-18 and 22-22, but the Broncos maintained control to win out. They took the final three points in the set, with two of them coming on block assists, each credited to Erica Prindle and Witchney Clersainville.  The Broncos worked up a comfortable lead in the fourth game, eventually working their lead up to as much as 11 points twice, which served as the difference in the 25-14 set victory.

Clersainville set a new career high with 13 kills, with just one error in 22 attempts for an astounding .545 percentage. She also came through on three block assists. Prindle led with 20 assists and three service aces, along with charting six kills and seven digs. Libero Shelby Nolan again led in digs with 19. Taylor Tsatsis was second with nine kills and 19 assists, along with two service aces. Kristen Maslanka garnered six kills with nine digs, while Haylee Lefebvre totaled six kills with one block solo.
