Volleyball Jumps to Sixth in Latest USCAA Rankings

NORFOLK, Va. (October 12, 2018) – The 10-6 SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team moved up a spot to sixth with 216 votes in the third edition of the USCAA Division II Coaches Poll. The Broncos moved up thanks to three wins in their last four contests, recently recording victories over SUNY Cobleskill and Cazenovia.

Against Cobleskill, Delhi trailed after the Fighting Tigers grabbed the first two sets. The Broncos answered by taking sets three and four by 25-19 and 25-17 respective scores, and finally a 16-14 hard-fought set five win. The match culminated in a 30-touch volley, where Haylee Lefebvre's kill secured the comeback for the Broncos. It marked Delhi's second win this season after trailing by two sets. Then against Cazenovia, the Broncos notched their third three-set sweep this season and first at home, recording 25-20, 25-21 and 25-20 wins.

Sophomore Ashley Hintz received her second ACAA Defensive Player of the Week award after combining for 35 digs over two games, including four in the Broncos' game-winning point versus SUNY Cobleskill. She leads the team with 256 total digs and 3.94 digs per set. Senior Kristen Maslanka leads Delhi with 167 kills and second with 204 digs. Junior Erica Prindle is the Broncos' leader in assists with 331 and second with 33 service aces. Taylor Tsatsis leads with 34 services aces, while Witchney Clersainville leads in blocks with 26, including 15 solo.

Cincinnati Clermont led the poll with 249 votes, while Christendom ranked second with 243 votes. Johnson & Wales took third at 241 votes, with Penn State Dubois fourth with 233 votes and Penn State Fayette fifth with 229 votes. The Broncos are 2-0 against USCAA-ranked opponents this season after defeating Dean and Valley Forge, who were ranked sixth and ninth, respectively, in the USCAA Division I poll.

Head coach Beau Bracchy's team continues their six-date, seven-match home stand on Sunday, welcoming Green Mountain and Rosemont for a tri-match, starting at 11:00 a.m.
