Broncos Earn First Home Sweep Versus Cazenovia

DELHI, N.Y. (October 11, 2018) – SUNY Delhi women's volleyball captured their first home victory in straight sets Thursday night, sweeping Cazenovia by way of 25-20, 25-21 and 25-20 set wins. The Broncos, ranked sixth in the latest USCAA Division II Coaches Poll, jumped to 10-6 on the year.

Delhi faced perhaps its biggest challenge in the second set, when they faced their largest deficit of the match, behind 9-3. The Broncos answered with ten of the next 14 points to find themselves ahead, 14-13. Despite three straight points from Cazenovia to tie the set at 19-19, head coach Beau Bracchy's team tallied six of the next eight points to take the win in game two. The women jumped out to a 6-1 lead entering set three, and never looked back, leading by as much as seven points in the final frame to clinch the sweep.

Freshman Caitlyn Curcurito led the Broncos attack with nine kills and four service aces. Witchney Clersainville totaled eight points, along with two block assists. Haylee Lefebvre, Kristen Maslanka and Taylor Tsatsis each gathered six kills, with Maslanka adding 14 digs. Libero Ashley Hintz garnered a team-high 21 digs, as Erica Prindle led with 15 assists, while totaling 13 digs.

Coach Bracchy's team is 2-1 at the halfway point of their six-date, seven-match home stand, which continues this Sunday. The Broncos are set to host a tri-match with Green Mountain and Rosemont, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
