Broncos Take 3-1 Win at Purchase

PURCHASE, N.Y. (September 21, 2018) – The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team returned convincingly to the win column Friday evening with a 3-1 victory at Purchase. Backed by a team-high ten kills from Witchney Clersainville and nine each from Caitlyn Curcurito and Kristen Maslanka, the Broncos jumped out to wins in the first two sets and once more in set four to improve to 6-3 on the year.

Tied at 14-14 in the first set, Delhi pushed ahead by grabbing ten of the next 14 points to guide them to the 25-21 victory. The Broncos nearly followed suit in game two, where they found themselves behind, 13-12, and jumped in front by way of scoring eight of the next ten points to carry them to a 25-16 win. The Panthers earned set three by a 25-21 score, leading to a close fourth set where both teams were tied at 23-23. Head coach Beau Bracchy's team closed the lid by claiming the next two points.

Clersainville also totaled four blocks, including two solo, to finish with a team-best 13 points. Maslanka led the Broncos with 22 digs, while Erica Prindle led with 24 assists to go along with five kills. Taylor Tsatsis added ten kills with 15 assists, as Ashley Hintz totaled 13 digs and Haylee Lefebvre gathering seven kills.

The Broncos' next contest sees them traveling to play Bard on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
