SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (September 4, 2018) – The American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) today announced Ashley Hintz (Kingston, NY / Kingston) as its Women's Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week. The sophomore defensive specialist combined for 48 digs and five service aces in Delhi's season-opening sweep of Dean and Valley Forge on Sunday. Head coach Beau Bracchy's squad are off to their first 2-0 start since 2015.

In the Broncos' opening 3-1 victory over the Dean Bulldogs, Hintz collected 31 digs and three service aces as Delhi won the first set by a 25-21 score, followed by victories in set three, 25-17, and set four, 26-24. Hintz and the Broncos concluded Sunday by overcoming a 2-1 deficit to snag a 3-2 tiebreaking win against the Valley Forge Patriots. The Kingston, NY, native logged 17 digs, along with a pair of service aces. The Broncos handily took set one, 25-10, and facing defeat after back-to-back UVF set wins, Delhi rallied with a 25-19 win in set four and a 15-12 ledger in the tiebreaker.

Hintz and the Broncos are back in action this Wednesday as they embark on their first road trip of the season at Sage at 7:00 p.m.
