Maslanka Accorded to ACAA All-Academic Team

DELHI, N.Y. (October 27, 2017) – In a stellar season so far for the junior outside hitter, Kristen Maslanka (Pine Island, NY / Warwick Valley) added another honor to her repertoire by being named to the ACAA Women's Volleyball All-Academic Team. Maslanka, who is SUNY Delhi's career kills leader with 570 and leads the team this year with 176, is a Business and Technology Management major with a 3.45 GPA.

Maslanka recently broke the school career kills record of 509 set by Kelsey Pratt (2009-10) in Delhi's 3-0 win over Bryn Mawr on Oct. 14. That performance, along with totaling 36 kills over a four-match span that week, landed the Pine Valley, NY native USCAA and NIAC Athlete of the Week honors. Maslanka has posted double digits in kills in five matches this season, including a season-high 14 kills at Dean on Sept. 16 and a pair of 13-kill showings against Southern Vermont on Oct. 11 and Culinary on Oct. 21. The junior is also second on the team with 235 digs, finishing with double digits in digs in 11 contests this season. She had a year-best 18 digs against Maine Presque Isle on Oct. 7.

Maslanka and the rest of the Broncos are set to host the NIAC Women's Volleyball Championship this Saturday, beginning at 11:00 a.m. in Floyd L. Maines Arena. Delhi will face Maine Fort Kent at 1:00 p.m. and Fisher at 3:00 p.m., with Maine Fort Kent and Fisher playing at 11:00 a.m.
