Delhi Ends Regular Season Victorious at Cazenovia, Preps for NIACs Saturday

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. (October 26, 2017) – With one final regular-season test before Saturday's NIAC Championship, the SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team delivered with a 3-1 victory at Cazenovia Wednesday evening. The Broncos, now 9-17, have earned the third seed for the conference championship, which they will host on Saturday starting at 11:00 a.m. versus Maine Fort Kent and Fisher.

The Wildcats edged out a win in the first set by a 26-24 score. But from then on, the Broncos took control, taking set two, 25-12, edging out set three, 25-23, and finishing off the comeback with a 25-17 win in set four.

Delhi finished with a .123 kills margin Wednesday, totaling 34 kills. Continuing her team-leading kills prowess, Kristen Maslanka again led Delhi with 11 kills, while Taylor Tsatsis had seven kills and Regan Hubner six. Tsatsis finished with a .538 kill percentage. Setter Emma King finished with 30 assists, while libero Kyoko Shimizu had 14 digs to lead the squad. Maslanka also added six digs.

Saturday's NIAC Championship will consist of third-seeded Delhi, top-seeded Maine Fort Kent and second-seeded Fisher. The tournament will follow a round-robin format. Fisher will take on Maine Fort Kent at 11:00 a.m., with Delhi facing Maine Fort Kent at 1:00 p.m. and Fisher at 3:00 p.m. in Floyd L. Maines Arena.
