Broncos Rally from Two Down, Beat Utica in Comeback Fashion

DELHI, N.Y. (September 25, 2017) – SUNY Delhi women's volleyball captured their second straight win in comeback fashion against Utica Monday night. Down, 2-0, after 25-22 and 25-11 Pioneers set wins, the Broncos rallied to take sets three and four, 25-20 and 25-19, and won the deciding game, 15-13, for a 3-2 victory.

Delhi trailed early in the fifth set, 8-4, but grabbed nine of the next ten points to lead, 13-9. After Utica tied the set at 13-13, a Haylee Lefebvre kill and an attack error from Pioneer Hannah Voss clinched the win for the Broncos. Coach Beau Bracchy's team was also behind, 18-13, in the third set, but went on to earn 12 of the next 14 points to stretch the contest.

Haylee Lefebvre, Kristen Maslanka and Taylor Tsatsis each earned a match-high nine kills, with Lefebvre tallying three blocks, including two solo. Setter Emma King tallied 30 assists, along with seven service aces and eight digs. Libero Kyoko Shimizu led the Broncos with 18 digs, with Madison Saleman adding 16 digs and Maslanka digging 15. Regan Hubner finished with eight kills.

The Broncos cap off their three-match homestand on Wednesday, when they take on Morrisville State at 7:00 p.m. in Floyd L. Maines Arena. Delhi is 3-2 at home this year.
