Delhi Downed in Deciding Set to Clarks Summit

CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. (September 19, 2017) – The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team were pitted in their first five-set match of the season at Clarks Summit on Tuesday. Both sides exchanged wins to force the tiebreaker set, and facing a 13-8 deficit, the Broncos rallied furiously to tie the set at 14-14. The Defenders, however, would grab the last two points to hand Delhi a 3-2 defeat.

Regan Hubner led Delhi with ten kills, with Kristen Maslanka and Taylor Tsatsis tallying six kills. Delhi's Emma King finished with a team-high 31 kills. Haylee Lefebvre and Sarah Clapper each had five kills, with Lefebvre totaling four blocks, including two solo. Kyoko Shimizu finished with 25 digs. On the flip side, three Defenders finished in double digits in kills, with Kara Brown leading the match with 16. Grace Evans had 12 kills for CSU, while Hannah Phelan had ten.

Clarks Summit took the first set, 25-19, before Delhi answered with a 25-21 second-set win. The Defenders regained the lead with a 25-23 set three win, before the Broncos forced the deciding game with a 25-22 win in set four.
