Seniors Honored in Home Finale with Utica

DELHI, N.Y. (September 25, 2019) – Seniors Susan Hoskins, Makalia Bean and Jessica Biller were honored prior to Wednesday's women's tennis match with Utica, which served as SUNY Delhi's final home contest of the season. The one doubles team of Mackenzie Landman and Hailey Gundersen provided the Broncos' lone win of the day as the Broncos fell, 8-1, to the Pioneers.

Landman and Gundersen defeated Madeline McInlay and Bianca Bockhaus by an 8-2 score. Though Utica grabbed the other two doubles matches by 8-3 and 8-4 scores, the Broncos went three sets deep in two singles contests. Gundersen and Morgan Willis exchanged 6-3 wins at two singles before Willis came out on top in the deciding set, 10-7. Madison Saleman posted a 6-4 set win over Biana Bockhaus at four singles before the latter claimed 6-2 and 10-3 wins in the next two frames.

Head coach Mark Birman's team heads to the Northern Vermont schools this weekend, playing at Lyndon on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., then at Johnson on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
