Hoskins Wins Two in NAC Defeat at MCLA

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (September 18, 2019) – Senior Susan Hoskins picked up a pair of wins Tuesday as the SUNY Delhi women's tennis team played MCLA in a NAC road match. Despite her victories at three doubles and six singles, as well as Jessica Biller winning a three-set match at three singles, the Broncos suffered a 6-3 defeat to the Trailblazers.

Hoskins and doubles partner Madison Saleman defeated McKenna Clark and Ashlee Bartels in the three spot, 8-3. Hoskins then went on to capture a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Bartels at six singles. Biller won her first set at three singles by a 6-3 score. When her opponent Mackenna Jordan won the next frame, 6-2, Biller answered with a 6-4 win in the deciding set to clinch the match.

The Broncos played several close matches in those they were defeated in. Two singles player Hailey Gundersen played tight with Briana Higgins, but came up just short, 6-4 and 6-3. Saleman was narrowly defeated in her first set at five singles versus Alyssa Keegan, 7-6 (4), followed by a 6-4 loss in set two.

Head coach Mark Birman's team has a road match at Bard this Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
