Delhi Makes 2019 Debut Versus Hartwick

DELHI, N.Y. (September 5, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi women's tennis team began their 2019 season Wednesday afternoon hosting local-foe Hartwick. The Hawks posted an 8-1 victory, grabbing two of the three doubles match and sweeping the singles competition.

In the debut match of head coach Mark Birman, the Broncos showed resiliency in several matchups Wednesday. The two doubles team of Mackenzie Landman and Makalia Bean picked up Delhi's lone win over Hannah Pettis and Jessica Best by an 8-6 score. In the three doubles spot, Madison Saleman and Susan Hoskins battled back from a 7-2 deficit, but came up just short, 8-6. Hoskins carried that grit over to her five singles match in the closest singles contest of the match, with just two points separating her from opponent Taylor D'Andrea in each set, 7-5 and 6-4.
