DuBois Wraps Rewarding Week with USCAA Honors

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (October 25, 2019) – Shortly after receiving the NAC's Athlete of the Week honor, women's soccer's Alexa DuBois (Hobart, NY / South Kortright Central) was rewarded as the USCAA Division I Athlete of the Week. She played a part in both of Delhi's goals last Saturday at NAC-foe Thomas, including netting the game-winner in a 2-1 overtime victory.

DuBois proved to be the scoring difference in Saturday's matchup with the Terriers. She assisted on the first goal of the day by Alexa Scaglione at 55:00. After a Thomas goal in the 71st minute sent Delhi to its seventh overtime match of the season, the former South Kortright Central graduate offered the Broncos an early exit with the game-winning score at 92:14, assisted by former high school teammate Brianna Laing.

The win currently puts the NAC-Tournament bound Broncos in third place in the NAC standings with a 4-2-1 league record, behind first-place Maine Maritime (6-0 NAC) and second-place Husson (5-1-1 NAC). Delhi took both teams to overtime, where they came up short to MMA and tied with Husson. The six-seed NAC Tournament has the top two seeds earning a first-round bye, with seeds three through six squaring off in the league quarterfinals the weekend of Nov. 2-3, hosted by the third and fourth seed. The winners will head to the number-one seed for the NAC Final Four the weekend of Nov. 9-10.

DuBois and the Broncos wrap up their regular season this Saturday with a NAC visit to Northern Vermont Lyndon at 2:45 p.m.
