DuBois, Slattery Open Broncos Careers with NAC Weekly Honors

WATERVILLE, Me. (September 3, 2019) – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) has announced junior Alexa DuBois (South Kortright, NY / South Kortright Central) as the Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week and freshman Micayla Slattery (Averill Park, NY / Averill Park) as the Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week. The two played crucial roles in the Broncos' 2-2 season-opening draw Friday at Alfred State and their 6-1 victory in their home-opener versus SUNY Poly. Head coach Lauren Mackay's team begins the year at 1-0-1.

Delhi trailed the host Pioneers, 2-0, in the second half before A'mya Joseph scored in the 56th minute to cut the deficit in the half. With five minutes remaining, Slattery set DuBois up with the equalizer that eventually pushed the match to a draw.

The Broncos carried their momentum over to Sunday's home meeting with the Wildcats, where the Slattery-DuBois combination again came through for the first score just over one minute in. DuBois picked up her second goal of the season, assisted by Slattery at the 1:08 mark, which was then followed by Slattery's first career collegiate score exactly 24 minutes later to give the Broncos a 2-0 lead.

The ladies look to continue their strong start to the season at Elmira on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 4:00 p.m. in their lone match this week.
