DELHI, N.Y. (September 1, 2019) – After nearly coming out with a season-opening victory at Alfred State Friday, the SUNY Delhi women's soccer team left little doubt in their home opener against SUNY Poly Sunday with a 6-1 victory. Sophomore Kelsey Innes led the scoring production with a hat trick, in addition to scores from Alexa DuBois, Micayla Slattery and Madeeah Oranchak to put the Broncos 1-0-1.

To follow up her game-tying score from Friday's 2-2 draw with the Pioneers, DuBois got Delhi on the board just over one minute in from an assist by Slattery at 1:08. Slattery followed with her first career goal as a Bronco at the 25:08 mark. Innes then punched in her productive afternoon with the next three scores, the first at 36:38, the second just before halftime at 44:13, and finally her third at 52:40 with assistance from Alexa Scaglione. The Wildcats got one back just moments later from Shannon Harrison at 53:13, but would get no more thanks to a combined 11 saves from Delhi keepers Rachael Scoones and Jessica Shultis. Scoones gathered five in the first half, as Shultis collected six saves in the second half. Madeeah Oranchak provided the last goal of the day at 81:48, assisted by DuBois.

Innes' trifecta puts her in the team lead with six points on three goals, as DuBois is second with five points on two goals and one assist. Scoones moves to 1-0 on the season.

Sunday's meeting served as a precursor between future conference rivals. The 2019 season marks Delhi's first in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC), with SUNY Poly set to join the league next year.

Head coach Lauren Mackay's team heads out on the road for their next three matches. They face Elmira on Wednesday, Sept. 4, followed by Keystone on Tuesday, Sept. 10 and Northern Vermont Johnson in their NAC season opener on Saturday, Sept. 14. The Broncos are back home Wednesday, Sept. 18 against Morrisville State.
