Women's Soccer Grabs Three Seed for ACAA Tournament, to Play Alfred State in First Round

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (October 16, 2018) – The American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) released the field for the 2018 Women's Soccer conference tournament, with SUNY Delhi selected as the third seed. The Broncos will take on second-seed Alfred State in the conference semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at Finlandia University at 1:00 p.m. in Hancock, Mich.

Head coach Lauren Mackay's team has amassed a 9-1 record this season, winning their first nine matches and logging a pair of double-overtime wins. The tournament matchup will be a rematch of the Broncos and Pioneers' regular-season meeting from Sept. 2, where Delhi claimed a 3-2 home victory. Mackay's team has enjoyed some league accolades along the way, with freshman goalie Rachael Scoones earning Player of the Week from both the ACAA and USCAA. On a national level, the Broncos have been ranked first in all three USCAA Division II Coaches Polls.

The ACAA Women's Soccer Tournament consists of four teams. The winner of the Broncos-Pioneers match will take on the victor of the semifinals contest between top-seeded Thomas Moore and fourth-seed and host Finlandia, set for Saturday, Nov. 3 at 10:00 a.m. Both will battle it out for the ACAA Championship will be Sunday, Nov. 4 at 11:00 a.m.
