SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (September 25, 2018) – The American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) announced goalkeeper Rachel Scoones (Waterville, NY / Waterville) as it's Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. The freshman earned her first career ACAA honor and the team's first this season after a shutout performance in Delhi's 3-0 win at Morrisville State on Wednesday to keep the Broncos undefeated at 7-0.
Scoones logged five saves against the Mustangs, including two in the first half to keep the match scoreless at halftime. The Broncos finally got on the board in the 52nd minute, in which Scoones responded by logging a pair of saves to preserve Delhi's one-goal lead. Delhi answered with two more unanswered goals to close out the victory. The Waterville, NY native improved to 3-0 on the year and posted her second shutout of 2018.
Scoones and the Broncos look to continue their undefeated season this Saturday when they welcome Green Mountain at 1pm.
