HAZLETON, Pa. (September 16, 2018) – The undefeated SUNY Delhi women's soccer team stayed true to form on the road at Penn State Hazelton on Saturday by way of an 8-1 rout. Katie Herba posted a hat trick, Kelsey Innes and Alexa Scaglione each had two scores, while Samantha Friedman accounted for the one remaining goal to spell out the Broncos' win. Head coach Lauren Mackay's team propelled to 6-0 on the year.

Scaglione kicked off the scoring early at the 1:12 mark, where the freshman fired a shot from the left side over the keeper. Delhi hung onto its 1-0 lead for just over the next 20 minutes before Herba initiated two goals 26 seconds between each other. The senior lifted a feed from Innes and hooked one into the top left corner to give the Broncos some breathing room at the 24:46 mark, then dribbled one past the defense and connected again at 25:12 as Delhi led at the half, 3-0.

Hazleton got one back in minute 69 when Madison Polumbo found the lower left corner. Thanks to four saves from Jessica Shultis, that would be all the goals Delhi would allow. With a victory in sight, the Broncos refused to let up, stringing together five goals within a seven-minute, one-second span. The first came in the 80th minute, when Scaglione got her second score. Innes accounted for the next two scores, both coming off rebounds from shots from Herba in the 81st and 85th minutes. The freshman buried one in off a shot that hit the crossbar, and tucked the next one in  off a shot that bounced off the goalkeeper. Herba completed the hat trick in minute 86, delivering one from outside the 18-yard mark. Friedman capped the scoring when she received a feed from Innes and buried one in from the right side in minute 87.

The Broncos took the Lions for a 40-7 advantage in shots and a 6-1 lead in corner kicks. Herba led Delhi with eight points on three goals and two assists, while Innes had six points on her pair of goals and assists. Shultis improved to 4-0 on the year in net.

The Lady Broncos are back out on the road this week to preserve their unbeaten mark, traveling to Morrisville State on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 4:00 p.m.
