VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (November 27, 2017) – In a rewarding season for both players, junior forward Katie Herba (Perth, NY / Broadalbin-Perth) and sophomore goalkeeper Jacqueline Slentz (Edmeston, NY / Edmeston CS) capped off their 2017 accolades being named to the USCAA National All-Academic Team. Herba is a Business and Technology Management major, holding a 3.67 GPA. Slentz majors in Nursing and holds a 3.74 GPA.

Playing in just 13 matches in 2017, Herba finished as SUNY Delhi's top scorer with 28 points on 11 goals and six assists. The Perth, NY native ended tied for second in the ACAA in both points and assists, and fourth in goals. Herba was named the ACAA's Athlete of the Week in back-to-back weeks for Sept. 3 and Sept. 10, where she scored four goals each against Penn State Hazleton and King's NY. In both contests, Herba tallied a hat trick before halftime. At last weekend's NIAC Championship, the Broadalbin-Perth graduate was accorded All-NIAC and NIAC All-Tournament honors. A former transfer from Fulton Montgomery Community College, Herba is also a member of the SUNY Delhi women's basketball team.

In her first year as a starter, Slentz started and played every minute in goal for the Broncos this season, finishing with a 3.84 GAA and .638 save percentage. She finished third in the ACAA in goals against average and fourth with 95 total saves. The Edmeston, NY native posted one shutout win, a 3-0 victory over Villa Maria on Sept. 16. A Nursing major, Slentz also posted double digits in saves in three matches, including a career-best 20 saves against Fisher in the NIAC Semifinals, 12 saves versus SUNY ESF and 11 saves at Keystone.
