SYRACUSE, N.Y. (October 18, 2017) – After roughly a two-and-a-half week break from game action, the SUNY Delhi women's soccer team visited Bryant & Stratton Syracuse on Wednesday. The Broncos came up on the short end of a 6-0 decision.
Despite allowing an early goal just 2:18 into the contest, Delhi kept the match at 1-0 throughout most of the first half. That was until Cindy Jacquet, who scored the opening goal, tacked on her second score with 46 seconds remaining before halftime to give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead at the break. Jacquet earned her third score in minute 51, while Portia Davis, Janet Madrid and Krystal Taylor provided the remaining scores.
Keeper Jacqueline Slentz registered nine saves against a Bobcats squad that outshot the Broncos by a 23-6 margin and 15-3 in shots on goal. Samantha Friedman, Katie Herba and Emily Guerra had each of Delhi's three shots on goal, with Herba leading the team with four shots. No cards were given as Bryant & Stratton was called on 11 fouls to Delhi's six.
SUNY Delhi is back in action at home on Saturday, October 21, when they face Fisher as part of SUNY Delhi Fan Appreciation Day.
