Alison Agoglia Claims First USCAA National Title for Women's Golf

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (October 9, 2018) – Alison Agoglia (Rockville Center, NY / South Side) reached the summit of her SUNY Delhi women's golf career on Tuesday by winning the USCAA Individual National Championship. The senior totaled an 85 second-day score following her 81 total from day one Monday to finish six strokes ahead of the pack. The competition took place at the par-72, 5,305-yard Penn State Blue Course.

Freshman Erin Schowerer took second, carding a 91 on day two after being tied with Agoglia following Monday's portion at 81. Lauren Schnoor improved by seven strokes from her first day total to move up on spot to third with 111, 104 scores. Antonia Buon finished fifth after scoring a 140 Tuesday, along with her 136 score from day one.

Agoglia improved from her third-place showing from last year's championship; she previously placed fifth in 2016. Her victory on Tuesday was the latest in the senior's USCAA accomplishments of the 2018 season, having been named the league's Athlete of the Week on two occasions.
