DELHI, N.Y. (January 11, 2020) – A season-high 27 points and 11 rebounds for Camryn McDonald was not enough to get the SUNY Delhi women's basketball team out on top against Maine Fort Kent Saturday, as the Bengals grabbed a 75-53 win. While Delhi kept pace with MFK in several categories, the visitors ultimately outperformed with nearly a ten-percent difference shooting. The Broncos moved to 3-13 on the year.

McDonald shot 11-of-22 on the afternoon, making one 3-pointer and four free throws, to set a new team season high in individual game scoring. Samiaya Salley added a dozen points with eight rebounds and three assists. Diana Echols grabbed ten boards with two points, while Katelyn Lewis finished with five points and five boards. Delhi led, 51-45, in rebounds, including a 17-11 advantage offensively, as well as a 29-4 lead in points off the bench from McDonald and Echols.

Maine Fort Kent's starting five produced 71 of their 75 points, led by Savana Jankowski netting 23 points to go with eight rebounds, five assists, three steals, and a pair of blocks. The Bengals started strong with a 26-12 lead after the first quarter, making five of their nine 3-pointers in the opening ten minutes. MFK built its lead to 36-21 at halftime before the Broncos tightened things up in the third period to cut things to 40-33 with 3:42 to go in the period. The Bengals, however, answered with another 26 points over the course of the fourth quarter, taking as much as a 26-point lead by game's end.

The Broncos finished at 30.4 percent shooting (21-for-69), making 5-of-25 threes, while Maine Fort Kent shot 40.3 percent (29-for-72) and hit on 9-of-23 from behind the arc. The Bengals took 17 Delhi turnovers to a 19-2 edge in points off turnovers, and used 11 offensive boards for a 19-13 lead in second chance points.

The Bengals' Keri La made 14 points with seven boards and five assists, as Ivette Trujillo connected for 12 points with five rebounds. Stephanie Cervantes and Ranika Guyton each tallied 11 points, with Cervantes posting a team-best ten rebounds on the day.

Head coach Lauren McRoberts' squad is back on the road for two straight games, starting Tuesday when they face Maine Maritime at 7:00 p.m., then visiting Husson on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. The Broncos are back home Saturday, Jan. 18 to take on Pine Manor at 1:00 p.m.
