JOHNSON, Vt. (January 6, 2020) – Two games, two wins is how the SUNY Delhi women's basketball team begins 2020 after Monday's 64-54 afternoon road win at Northern Vermont Johnson. Just like their victory over SUNY Canton on Saturday, the Broncos had three players score in double figures, led by 20 points from Samiaya Salley, to improve to 3-11 and earn their first road victory of the season.

Delhi maintained a lead for most of the game, shaking off any Badgers comeback attempts with runs of their own. Hanging to a 33-30 advantage midway through the third quarter, the Broncos went on a 12-3 run to close out the period, never allowing Johnson to get any closer than five points in the fourth quarter.

Salley finished the game with 20 points, making a pair of 3-pointers and collecting nine rebounds. Sam Acuna also knocked down two triples on her way to 14 points with five assists and Camryn McDonald garnering 13 points. Though NVUJ held a 47-44 lead in rebounds, Delhi did not allow any Badger to go into double digits on the boards, thanks in part to Diana Echols leading the game with 15 rebounds. Katelyn Lewis delivered nine points with seven rebounds, while Princess Richardson gathered five points.

The Broncos finished at 34.3 percent shooting (24-for-70) and 5-of-22 on threes, as the Badgers shot 30.0 percent (24-for-80) and 5-of-26, respectively. Delhi's abilities at limiting its fouls also proved key in the win, with Johnson only making one trip to the free throw line, making 1-of-2, while the Broncos connected on 11-of-19 from the charity stripe.

The women saddle up again tomorrow, finishing up their Northern Vermont University tour at Lyndon for a 12:00 p.m. tipoff. They are back home this weekend for a Saturday noon matchup against Maine Fort Kent.
