DELHI, N.Y. (November 16, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi women's basketball team added a win to Saturday's Hall of Fame festivities with a 74-62 victory over Penn State Hazleton for their first win of the season. On a day where SUNY Delhi welcomed three new members to its Athletics Hall of Fame, including former women's basketball star Shanay Bradley '10, the ladies treated their distinguished guests to a productive afternoon to improve to 1-2 on the season.

Freshman and Walton, NY native Carissa Crandall delivered a team-best 18 points off the bench, spurred on by making 4-of-7 3-pointers. Senior and South Kortright Central graduate Sam Acuna totaled 11 points off the pine to rank second on Delhi, as junior Kiera Holland delivered ten points with six rebounds. Diana Echols tied for a game-high ten rebounds, as Samiaya Salley was within striking distance of a triple-double with nine points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Camryn McDonald notched nine rebounds and seven points, while East Meredith, NY native Justine Lubbers tallied nine points and four rebounds. Senior Katelyn Lewis finished with six points and five rebounds.

The Broncos led the entire game, taking control right away for a 27-17 lead at the first quarter's end. While Delhi maintained a sizable lead throughout the contest, holding as much as a 16-point lead at one point in the third quarter, the Lions made a fourth-quarter run to cut the lead to 68-61 with less than five minutes to play. After a few scoreless moments, Crandall sank her fourth a final 3-pointer of the day to erase any Hazleton comeback hopes.

Delhi found a groove behind the arc, making 8-of-21 triples to the Lions' 3-of-17. The Broncos posted a 38.0 field goal percentage (27-for-71) to Hazleton's 30.7 (23-for-75). The green and gold led in rebounds, 53-47, and forced 22 Hazleton turnovers to connect for 15 points off turnovers.

Saturday marked the induction of three new members to SUNY Delhi's Athletics Hall of Fame: Shanay Bradley '10 (Women's Basketball), Christopher Mason '09 (Cross County/Track & Field) and Anibal Nieves '86 (Wrestling). The three were formally inducted in a pregame ceremony at the Bluestone at The College Golf Course, and were recognized at halftime of the women's game, where their plaques were unveiled in Clark Field House's Hall of Fame wing.
