DELHI, N.Y. (November 14, 2019) – SUNY Delhi women's basketball opened their home season Thursday night with a meeting versus Clarks Summit. A strong third-quarter performance by the Defenders put the Broncos behind entering the fourth that resulted in a 71-64 defeat. Delhi stands at 0-2 on the season.

Clarks Summit took a slim 38-36 lead at halftime before outscoring the Broncos, 24-14, in the third period. Behind, 62-50, Delhi made a run in the fourth quarter that put them behind just 67-62 with 3:39 remaining. They made just one basket, however, for the rest of the contest.

Camryn McDonald led the Broncos with 20 points, while recording four rebounds and four assists. Samiaya Salley knocked down a pair threes on her way to ten points with six assists, five steals and four rebounds, while Kiera Holland netted eight points with five boards. Diana Echols led the team with eight rebounds and netting four points. Katelyn Lewis and Sam Acuna both finished with six points and five boards, with Acuna hitting on a pair of threes. Justine Lubbers connected on six points with three rebounds.

The Defenders held the edge in the rebounding battle, 48-45, as well as shooting a 41.7 field goal percentage (30-for-72) with a 8-for-26 showing on 3-pointers to Delhi's 37.3 percent (25-for-67) and 5-for-21, respectively.

Head coach Lauren McRobert's team has a quick two-day turnaround before welcoming Penn Hazleton to Floyd L. Maines Arena as part of their Hall of Fame game this Saturday. The contest is part of SUNY Delhi Athletics' annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where they will welcome Shanay Bradley '10 (Women's Basketball), Chris Mason '09 (Cross Country/Track & Field), and Anibal Nieves '86 (Wrestling) to the hall, with a special presentation of the inductees at halftime.
