Holland Makes Marks on USCAA, ACAA All-Academic Teams

DELHI, N.Y. (April 15, 2019) – SUNY Delhi women's basketball sophomore Kiera Holland (Elmont, NY / Elmont Memorial) added academic achievement to a spectacular season, being named to the USCAA National All-Academic Team and the ACAA All-Academic Team. Holland majors in Recreation and Sports Management, holding a 3.51 GPA. This marks the latest achievement for Holland, as she was named a USCAA All-American Honorable Mention, as well as being named to the All-ACAA Second Team.

Holland finished as Delhi's leading scorer, ranking fourth in the ACAA at 16.8 ppg., and fourth on Delhi on the boards at 5.7 rpg. She had 11 20-point games, including a tandem of season-high scoring efforts with 26 points against Penn State Hazleton on Nov. 17 and Purchase on Feb. 4. The latter saw her post her second and final double-double of the season, where Holland grabbed ten rebounds. Holland also serves as the women's basketball SAAC representative.

Holland and the Broncos completed their first season under head coach Courtney Hoyt with an 11-13 record and several notable moments. They logged three ACAA wins against Pine Manor, Pratt and Valley Forge, and defeated stories foes Morrisville State and SUNY Canton. Delhi carried as much as a four-game win streak during the year, as well as a four-game home win streak. The Broncos were also 3-3 in games decided by two possessions or less.
