Women Dazzle in 70-50 Win at Pine Manor for Tenth Win, Go 3-0 in ACAA

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (January 17, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi women's basketball team pocketed another ACAA win Thursday evening, going 3-for-3 in their conference outings so far this year with a 70-50 road win over Pine Manor. Backed by 20-point performances from Kiera Holland and Samiaya Salley, the Broncos' first ACAA victory on the road puts the ladies in the ten-win column at 10-6.

Delhi ended the first quarter with a modest 18-14 lead, but then shifted gears to outscore the Gators, 23-6, in the second quarter to enter the half up, 41-20. The Broncos kept to that tune in the second half, not allowing Pine Manor to get any closer than 18 points of their lead, while stretching it to as much as 26 points. The ladies made 42.3 percent (30-for-71) from the field, including 5-of-17 from 3-point range, and limited the Gators to 27.4 percent (20-for-73) and 2-of-12, respectively. Delhi also outworked Pine Manor in rebounds by a 54-40 margin, including the defense grounding the Gators' offense with a 37-24 lead in defensive boards.

Holland made all of her game-high 24 points inside the arc, shooting 12-for-23 from the floor, while gathering three rebounds and five assists. Salley made a trio of threes on the night for 20 points, and collected six boards with three assists. Diana Echols led the way with 15 rebounds, including ten defensive, as she also finished with six points. Sam Acuna netted 13 points with six rebounds, while Katelyn Lewis pulled down 13 rebounds with nine defensive. Malorie Rutledge added four points with five rebounds.

The Broncos are back home for their next set of games, where they'll look to defend their strong 5-1 record in Floyd L. Maines Arena. They'll be back to face Green Mountain on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 7:00 p.m., followed by hosting Maine Fort Kent Friday, Jan. 25 at 7:00 p.m.
