DELHI, N.Y. (January 8, 2019) – The SUNY Delhi women's basketball team put forth a solid performance in their 2019 home debut versus ACAA-foe Pratt on Tuesday. Four Broncos finished in double digits, including two with double-doubles, on their way to a 66-38 handling of the Cannoneers. Delhi picked up its second win in its last three games to improve to 9-5.

The Broncos returned to their home crowd after a month-long road trip that saw them play five straight away games through December and January. The women celebrated their homecoming by taking the lead early and not relinquishing control, entering halftime with a 31-14 score and pushing their lead by as much as 32 points near game's end. The ladies outrebounded their guests by a 58-45 margin and producing a 36-16 advantage in points in the paint.

Sam Acuna garnered her first double-double this season with a year-best 16 points and 13 rebounds. She matched the Cannoneers' combined team total of four threes by going 4-for-11 from behind the arc. Diana Echols recorded her fifth double-double with 12 points and 14 boards. Samiaya Salley finished with a game-best 19 points, along with five rebounds and six assists, while Kiera Holland netted 16 points with four rebounds and four assists. Katelyn Lewis posted a strong game on the glass with ten rebounds to go with five assists.

Delhi made 37.0 percent from the field (27-for-73), and made 8-of-29 3-pointers, compared to Pratt's 21.7 percent (15-for-69) and 4-of-27, respectively. Thanks in part to a near-flawless game in terms of fouls, either side had limited trips to the line, with the Broncos making 4-of-11 to the Cannoneers' 4-of-7.

The victory puts Delhi at 2-0 on the year against ACAA competition, with the other being an 80-76 win over Valley Forge back on Dec. 1. The Broncos have four more conference games as they look to qualify for the ACAA Tournament in late February – at Pine Manor on Jan. 17, home against Alfred State on Jan. 20, at Valley Forge Feb. 2, and at Alfred State Feb. 9.

The ladies' next contest sees them heading to New Rochelle on Friday for a 5:00 p.m. contest.
