CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. (December 4, 2018) – The SUNY Delhi women's basketball team traveled to Clarks Summit Tuesday night, where they won their fourth straight game with a 71-49 showing against the Defenders. The Broncos surmounted a ten-point deficit after one quarter, using 22-point second and third quarters, along with allowing just 28 points by CSU over the final three quarters to improve to 6-3 on the year. Tuesday's win also marked the first of a five-game road trip for head coach Courtney Hoyt's team.

The host Defenders led for the entire opening quarter, and were ahead, 21-11, at period's end. The Broncos took over from then on, beginning the second quarter on an astounding 20-2 run on their way to outscoring CSU, 22-7, over the quarter to take a 33-28 lead at halftime. Though the Defenders cut Delhi's lead to 33-32 to start the second half, the Broncos once again used a 22-point quarter to establish some distance to enter the fourth period up, 55-39. The women kept the pressure on in the fourth period, pushing their lead to as high as 23 points.

Camryn McDonald produced a double-double off the bench with a game-high 22 points and 15 rebounds. Kiera Holland also recorded a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds. Samiaya Salley totaled 18 points with seven rebounds, while Sam Acuna logged 16 points.

The Broncos outshot the Defenders from the floor, 40.8 percent (29-for-71) to 34.4 percent (21-for-61), and outrebounded the home team, 42-20. Delhi pushed CSU into 19 turnovers, leading to a 22-14 advantage in points off turnovers, while outscoring the hosts in the paint by a 44-22 margin. The ladies also held a 12-0 lead in fastbreak points and 22-2 in bench points. The Broncos also made a 4-of-15 threes and 9-of-13 free throws, compared to the Defenders' 5-of-17 and 2-of-7, respectively.

Coach Hoyt's ballers continue their road swing this weekend, traveling to take on Alfred Friday at 5:00 p.m., followed by a matinee meeting with Houghton Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
