Camryn McDonald Earns USCAA Division II Player of the Week

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (February 7, 2018) – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced freshman guard/forward Camryn McDonald (Springfield Gardens, NY / Grover Cleveland) as its Women's Basketball Division II Player of the Week. McDonald picked up her first national weekly honor, and the first for SUNY Delhi women's basketball this season, after recording a pair of double-double performances to help Delhi to wins over Davis and SUNY Canton. The Broncos are currently 15-9, with a chance to make the USCAA National Tournament.

McDonald began her week scoring 17 points and gathering 16 rebounds in Delhi's 104-68 rout of Davis on Tuesday, marking the Broncos' highest-scoring game under third-year head coach Vicki Andruszkiewicz. The Springfield Gardens, NY native followed by tallying 18 points and 13 boards as the ladies beat SUNY Canton, 60-54, on Saturday, giving Delhi a season sweep of the Roos. McDonald made 8-of-9 free throws, including a perfect 7-for-7 in the fourth quarter, with six of those making up Delhi's final seven points to clinch the victory.

The graduate of Grover Cleveland High School has started every game, averaging a double-double with 14.1 ppg. and 12.8 rpg. She leads the team and ranks fourth in USCAA Division II in rebounds, while ranking third on the team in points. McDonald was also named the ACAA Player of the Week back in November.

SUNY Delhi enters its final four games looking to land one of the four at-large bids for the USCAA Division II National Tournament at Penn State Fayette. The Broncos will travel to face Alfred State on Saturday, followed by Villa Maria Sunday and Cazenovia on Thursday, Feb. 15. They finish the regular season at home against Central Penn on Feb. 17 before departing back to Villa Maria for the following weekend's NIAC Tournament. The USCAA Bid Day is set to take place on Feb, 19 and Feb. 20.
