Salley Scores Career-High 39 Points in Defeat to Keuka

DELHI, N.Y. (December 10, 2017) – Just two days after scoring a whopping 96 points, the SUNY Delhi women's basketball team put up 85 points Sunday against Keuka. Only this time, it wouldn't be enough, as the Wolves netted 97 points, including making a dozen 3-pointers, to defeat the Broncos.

Sophomore Samiaya Salley set a new career high with 39 points for her second straight 30-point game, and earned a double-double with 12 rebounds. After notching her first career triple-double on Friday, Camryn McDonald had her ninth double-double this year with 13 points and 10 boards. Sam Acuna netted 12 points off the bench. Keuka's high-scoring attack featured two 20-point scorers in Reighly Melochick, who made 8-of-12 triples on her way to 28 points, and Lauren Anten, who scored 23 points along with a trio of 3-pointers.

Delhi was 46.3 percent (31-for-67) from the floor and 5-for-10 from behind the arc, while Keuka shot 50.6 percent (41-for-81) and 12-for-27 from long range. The Broncos fared better at the free throw line, making 18-of-25 to the Wolves' 3-for-11. The Broncos were outscored, 35-12, in bench points and 23-14 in points off turnovers, as well as being outrebounded by a 43-38 margin.

Behind after the first quarter, 26-22, the Broncos took their lone lead on a Kiera Holland layup with 8:01 to play in the second at 30-29. An Anten 3-pointer on the following possession gave the Wolves back the lead, but the Broncos pressed on to trail only 48-43 at halftime.

Katie Herba added eight points with five rebounds and three steals, while Holland scored eight points and Erica Cornmire tallied five points and five boards.
