Salley Nets 26 in Defeat to The Apprentice School

DELHI, N.Y. (November 19, 2017) – The SUNY Delih women's basketball team tasted just its second defeat of the season on Sunday, wrapping up their very own Bronco Fastbreak weekend classic falling, 69-57, to The Apprentice School. While the game stayed relatively close throughout much of the game, Delhi was hampered down low, trailing, 66-41, in rebounds, which included 32 offensive boards and 25 second-chance points for the Builders.

Despite the defeat, Samiaya Salley finished with a game-high 26 points and led Delhi with nine rebounds. Kiera Holland followed with 13 points, while Camryn McDonald had seven points and seven rebounds. Diana Echols had three points with seven boards, including four offensive, off the bench. On the opposing side, two Builders finished with double-doubles, while two others had double digits in points and another with double digits in rebounds. Ylexzis Trager had 16 points and 13 boards, while Julissa Riddick had 11 points and 11 rebounds. Quanisha Bruce had eight points with ten rebounds, while Aquzia Jones had 14 points and Latrice Washington netted ten points.

Delhi, led, 20-16, after the first quarter before Apprentice grabbed a 35-33 lead at halftime. The Broncos stayed tight with the Builders in the third period, and were within three points at 50-47 with 1:36 to play. That was until Apprentice ran off the next seven points, and built its lead to as much as 17 points near the end of the fourth quarter.
