MEET INFO: LIVE RESULTS

DELHI, N.Y. (May 15, 2019) – Head coach Robb Munro and a select group of his SUNY Delhi track and field competitors will make the postseason trip to SUNY Cortland this Wednesday and Thursday for the AARTFC Championships. A total of ten Broncos will compete across the eight events they qualified for during the season, which begins for them Wednesday evening.

The Broncos enter the regional competition with already a proud track record in their first outdoor season in NCAA Division III. The women's and men's teams swept the NAC Championships in April, as well as topping the three-conference meet that featured teams from the GNAC and NECC. Delhi won conference titles in all eight events the team is scheduled to compete in at AARTFC's.

On Wednesday…

Senior distance runners Nicholas Arnecke (Edmeston, NY / Edmeston) and Kobie Lane (Port Jervis, NY / Port Jervis) will make their final stands Wednesday night in events where they hold school records. The two will run the 5K Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the final career race for Lane, who broke the school 5K record just weeks ago at Penn Relays (14:37.71). Arnecke will then put a capper on his extraordinary run at Delhi in the 10K at 8:15 p.m., the race where he set a new school standard of 30:44.62 as a junior at the 2018 Penn Relays.

Running alongside Arnecke and Lane in the 5K will be teammate and fellow standout Abshir Yerow (Syracuse, NY / Nottingham). The transfer from Onondaga C.C. is set to wrap up his landmark first year with the Brocnos after winning both the 5K (15:21.80) and 10K (34:03.18) at the NAC Championships.

Sophomore jumper Alex Irving (Binghamton, NY / Chenango Valley) takes on the triple jump Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. After passing the regional-qualifying mark on two of his attempts at East Stroudsburg, including a career-best 13.84m, Irving went on to win the event at the NAC Championships.

On Thursday…

Junior Diana Echols (Ellenville, NY / Ellenville) will throw the shot put on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. She has turned in a stellar outdoor season in the shot put, coming to within .04m of the school record for second all-time, and winning the event at the NAC Championships along with taking the conference title in the hammer throw.

Sophomore Glenn Butler Jr. (White Plains, NY / White Plains) will take the controls in Thursday's long jump at 12:00 p.m. and the high jump Thursday at 2:00 p.m. The second-year jumper won both events at the NAC Championships, with his high jump mark of 2.06m currently ranking 11th all-time in NCAA Division III. His winning long jump mark of 6.87m stands as a career best. He took the podium in the high jump at the AARTFC Indoor Championships, placing sixth.

Highlighted by a season-best performance of 49.71 at Penn Relays, Erica Cornmire (Ilion, NY / Mount Markham), Diara Oliver (Rockville Centre, NY / Oceanside), Madeeah Oranchak (Binghamton, NY / Binghamton) and Jaylynn Sheppard (Queens, NY / HS for CTEA) will run the 4x100 on Thursday at 12 noon. The four won at the NAC Championships, where they posted their third sub-50 time of the year at 49.88. They first broke 50 seconds this season at the Bronco Classic on April 13 with a time of 49.99.

Oranchak will also run the 200 meters. She finished second at the NAC Championships with a time of 26.95, and ran a season-best 26.55 at Mount Saint Mary in March.
