Andrews, Salcedo Lock Up NAC Weekly Honors

WATERVILLE, Me. (April 17, 2019) – Following a great day Saturday hosting their Bronco Classic, the SUNY Delhi track and field team scooped up two more NAC weekly awards. Freshman Katerina Salcedo (Binghamton, NY / Binghamton) earned her third straight conference honor as Women's Rookie of the Week, while Sean Andrews (Brooklyn, NY / Prospect Heights) got his second accolade this season as Men's Track Athlete of the Week.

Salcedo ran a conference-best 1:01.97 in the 400-meters on her home track Saturday, and was on the winning 4x100-meter relay team that broke 50 seconds and set a new conference standard at 49.99. Her freshman season so far has seen her break both the indoor and outdoor 800 meter records at 2:20.44 and 2:18.15, respectively. She also already has AARTFC spots lined up in the 800 and the 4x100, with the regional championships set for Wednesday, May 15 and Thursday, May 16 at Ithaca College.

Andrews finished with a lifetime-best 51.31 in the 400 meters Saturday, and ran the first leg of the 4x400 team that posted a conference-leading time of 3:29.47 to finish second in the event. The sophomore previously set a new career best in the 200 meters with a time of 22.91 at Mount Saint Mary on Mar. 30.

Head coach Robb Munro's squad prepares for a busy weekend, splitting their time between Friday and Saturday's Cortland Classic, as well as Saturday's East Stroudsburg All-American Meet.
