PITTSBURGH, Kan. (March 4, 2018) – SUNY Delhi runners Nicholas Arnecke and Kobie Lane made their mark Saturday on the third and final day of the NAIA Indoor National Championships. One day after teammate Michael Beebe took 12th in the high jump (1.98m), Lane earned NAIA All-American after taking sixth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:38.43, while Arnecke finished 12th in the 5,000 meters, clocking in at 15:17.83.

Lane became SUNY Delhi's first-ever track and field All-American at the four-year level; this is Delhi's third year since transitioning from the junior-college level. Milligan's Nathan Baker won the 3K with a time of 8:29.70, making Lane's time less than nine seconds off the pace. The junior from Port Jervis, NY qualified for nationals after posting a time of 8:42.30 at the Ithaca Bomber Invite. In the fall, he won the USCAA cross country individual national crown as Delhi captured its second straight cross country national title.

William Carey's Geoffrey Kipchumba won the 5K with a time of 14:43.58 as the top eight finished in under 15 minutes. Arnecke qualified for the NAIA meet after becoming SUNY Delhi's first-ever sub-15 5K runner with a time of 14:59.92 at the Ramapo Season Opener at the New York City Armory. The junior from Edmeston, NY broke the previous school record of 15:17.1 set by Jeremy Cornue in 2000.
