SUNY Delhi Men Win USCAA Title

The SUNY Delhi Track and Field team hosted the USCAA National Invitational this weekend.  The field included five teams from New York State, Berea College from Kentucky and the University of Dallas all the way from Texas.

The men's meet was highly competitive with the SUNY Delhi men taking the championship scoring 257 points to runner-up Berea College's 222.5.  Third place went to Alfred State who scored 127 points.  Leading the way for the men was junior Keimon Barrow who won the long jump and triple jump and sophomore Walter Briggs who won the 110HH and 400IH.  Also winning events for the men were Tyler O'Bryant (100 meters), Doug Williams (200 meters), Brian McLeod (High Jump) and Aidan Staib (Discus).

The women's meet was won by the Berea College with 229 points.  Second place was Alfred State with 105.5 points.  The SUNY Delhi women finished fourth with 69.5 points.  Leading the women was freshman Kelcey Watson with her win in the pole vault.  Watson who was battling injuries, waited until the field had dwindled then came in to clear the winning mark of 3.06 meters.

Next week, some members of the team will head to St. John's University for another meet.
